STARPOINTS relates to converting your Villas to STARPOINTS which can then be used to stay in Starpoints resorts, make airline reservations and car rentals and purchase merchandise.
1. Reserve up to 12 months in advance at your home resort in the size and view type you own. All reservations are date and time stamped. Room assignments are based on when you made the reservations.

2. If you own a 2 bedroom lock off unit, you have the option of splitting it into a one bedroom premium and a studio premium villa.

3. You have STAROPTION benefits entitling you to make reservations into any Starwood Vacation Villa, up to 8 months in advance. Reservations are taken on a first- come, first -served basis.

4. Beginning 90 days prior to the arrival date an Owner can make reservations in daily increments at any Starwood Vacation ownership Resort.

6. Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) program – Gives you the option to convert into STARPOINTS
Conversion rights to STARPOINTS are not available to a resale purchaser. Unless the resale buyer purchases a unit from the developer subsequently (certain minimum price requirements will apply) and notify Starwood in advance that you would like the resale unit “Retroed”. This will then give you SPG.
EXAMPLE: The conversion of 2 bedroom lock off Platinum season, at either of the two Westin Maui timeshares, will give you 80,000 STARPOINTS. It takes more than 80,000 STARPOINTS to stay a week in a hotel room at the Westin Maui. Would you want to give up a 2 bedroom Villa at either the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas or Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas North for less than a week in a hotel room at the Westin Maui?
It is also much less expensive to purchase a Maui timeshare on the resale market. The developer incurs marketing costs that are passed on to the consumer. A Hawaii timeshare should be purchased for enjoyment. It is an investment in all your future vacations.
