The Better Business Bureau continues to warn consumers to be aware of timeshare resale scams.
The BBB has repeatedly warned consumers to be careful and diligent in order to not fall prey to any of the current popular timeshare resale scams and advises consumers that the best way to avoid being involved in a scam is to research the timeshare resale company before investing. The best place to start is by contacting your local Better Business Bureau office to find out more about the company you are considering doing business with.
Another note of caution is to remember that a reputable timeshare resale company will not call you at your home to see if you are interested in selling your timeshare and will never ask for an upfront fee to sell your timeshare. If you are interested in selling your timeshare, do your research and contact a timeshare broker in the area where you own your timeshare. A commission will be paid to the timeshare resale broker upon completion of the sale and will be paid out of escrow at the time of closing, not before!
