TYPES OF VACATION PROGRAMS:
There are 2 types of vacation ownership programs
1. Week based- Ownership is purchased in a specific Resort, unit size, view category ( if applicable) and frequency of usage, in one week intervals, which grants owners the right to reserve in the Resort owned during the Home Resort Preference Period, in the type of unit owned.
2. Point-based programs-
a) Westin Nanea Ocean Villas. HomeOptions are purchased at the Westin Nanea Ocean Villas either in the Resort View category, granting owner to select a 1 or a 2 Bedroom Resort View or in the Ocean-front category, which entitles owner to reserve a 2 or a 3 Bedroom Oceanfront, at the Westin Nanea Ocean Villas, during the Home Resort Preference Period.
b) Flex- HomeOptions are purchased granting the owner to reserve in Multiple locations, during the Home Resort Preference Period.
Home Resort Preference Period:
Home Resort Preference Period- Reservations can be made 12-8 months in advance at Home Resort, in the unit size and view type owned, or in the case of Flex can be made in any of the Resorts in the Club up to 12 months in advance.
Check-in days are Friday Saturday or Sunday. Reservations are made in 7 day/7-night increments for week-based programs.
Check-in and check-out can be any day of the week in the Flex program.
What is the difference between buying a Westin/ Sheraton/ Vistana timeshare resale vs purchasing from the developer?
All owners who bought directly from the developer or purchased a resale in a Mandatory Resort receive StarOption benefits.
Voluntary Resort Resale owners do not get StarOption benefits
The option to convert into Marriott Bonvoy does not transfer on all resales

What are StarOptions?
StarOption is a numerical value assigned to the Vacation Ownership Interest, which entitles the Owner to internally exchange into other Vistana Signature Network Resorts, bank unused time, or borrow from the upcoming use period.
Reserve up to 8 months until day of check-in any check-in day any size villa for one night up to 21 consecutive nights
For reservations made 8 months or less in advance, you are in the Network Float Period and you can check-in or check-out any day, and use your time in any villa, in any size unit, at any resort in the Vistana Signature Experience network. You can reserve up to 21 consecutive nights.
Banking StarOptions
3 Star or 4 Star Members can bank their StarOptions by October 1st of the use year and there is an $89.00 fee.
5 Star Elite Members can bank their StarOptions by December 31st of the current year and there is no fee.
All other Members can bank StarOptions by July 1st.of the use year for a $109.00 fee.
Members will have two full years to use their StarOptions, until December 31st of the second year to use the banked StarOptions.
Banked StarOptions can be booked up to 8 months in advance of the arrival date
Banked StarOptions transfer when ownership is transferred to an immediate family member. If sold to an outside party the banked StarOptions do not transfer. The Seller will be able to retain any banked StarOptions as long as they have another Ownership/membership at any Vistana Resort, which entitles them to StarOption benefits.
If you are selling, your last Vistana managed Resort, all banked StarOptions and any pending reservations with banked Star Options will expire on the transfer of ownership.
Reservation Cancellation Policy:
If you cancel 8 months in advance to 61 days of check-in prior to arrival Staroptions returned Must be used before end of use year. No fee
60 days to 8 days prior Restricted Star Options are returned $50 fee can be reserved within 60 days of arrival
7 days to 2 days prior to arrival $75 fee Restricted Staroptions within 60 days prior to arrival.
Restricted Staroption reservations cannot be converted in Marriott Bonvoy points or banked with Interval International.
