Maui continues in its efforts to recover after the devastating wildfires that destroyed Lahaina and surrounding area. Unfortunately, several hundred of our associates In addition to the impact on our associates, these wildfires have affected the West Maui area around the resort. Many local businesses are not operating, resulting in limited, or no, access to places such as fuel stations, restaurants, golf courses, and grocery stores. A curfew remains in place in West Maui from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.

in those areas designated by Maui Police Department checkpoints. While power has been restored to the resort, this might only be temporary, and power could go out at any time due to the current unstable infrastructure. The resort has been affected by periodic loss of power, and those on Maui are being advised to limit non-essential usage of electricity. Due to weather conditions there continues to be the potential for new wildfires, as evidenced most recently on Aug. 26 when a brush fire near Lahaina prompted Maui authorities to evacuate a neighborhood.
