Clients of ours recently used their Hilton Points to do an RCI exchange to The Sheraton Broadway Plantation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and wanted to share their experience with us. We love hearing from our clients about their experiences when exchanging to other resorts.
Check in was easy and effortless. They had a two bedroom unit which they found spacious and well set up. The unit was nicely appointed, very clean and fairly new. There were plenty of utensils and dishes, an assortment of pots, pans, bowls, etc.; a toaster; coffee maker; tea kettle and pot; electric can opener; blender; one packet each of regular and decaf coffee; and individual packets of salt and pepper. There was also one box of laundry detergent and two dishwasher tablets provided.
There were several really nice large grills outside their unit which was a big bonus for them as they really enjoy grilling. The grills are very popular so their advice is to grill early.
The Sheraton resort amenities were fantastic they said. The fitness center was very nice, with three treadmills, two elliptical, two bikes and some free weights. They noted that it might get really busy when the resort is full but it worked out fine for them. In addition, the complex has a sand volleyball court, outdoor pool table, a lazy river, hot tubs, a 9-hole mini golf course, shuffle board and a playground for the kids. The pools and splash area for the kids was quite popular. The kids participated in several resort activities and really enjoyed the crafts.
They enjoyed the free morning coffee in the lobby and often grabbed a cup on their way back to the unit after their work out. The wifi was free and was fairly consistent. The iPads in didn’t always connect, but the laptops always worked fine.
There is no midweek tidy, only towel exchange. The clubhouse has two computers and a printer, book exchange, small snack shop, and $4 DVD rentals.
The concierge gives out parking passes and packets of brochures for activities and shows, including a sheet with directions to a lot of local points of interest, a list of restaurants, and a four-page schedule of activities on the property.
The resort was very convenient to Broadway at the Beach (about a mile) and only a few minute’s drive to the ocean. There is also a grocery store within a five minute drive and a wide variety of restaurants to enjoy.
They had a wonderful time and thought it was a great exchange.
