The Box Office is open Monday-Saturday, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and is also open two hours before Castle Theater shows and one hour before McCoy Studio Theater shows. The Box Office is located at the front gates of The Center, across from the big banyan tree!
The Maui Academy of Performing Arts (MAPA) presents three spectacular shows for the entire family to enjoy this weekend as part of the Spring Extravaganza at the Castle Theater. Where else could you find, jazz, tap, hip-hop and ballet? Check out the great line up of musical entertainment and the fun of the Globetrotters – all on Maui, all at the MACC!
Maui Cultural Arts Center Spring Extravaganza
Saturday, May 5 at 3:00pm opens with MAPA’s annual dance recital, featuring dancers of all ages strutting their stuff in jazz, tap, contemporary and hip-hop for an afternoon of pure joy.
Saturday evening at 7:30pm invites you to enjoy MAPA’S highly trained dance company presenting Moves, an extraordinary performance of original choreography in the style of MAPA’s Pieces dance concerts.
Sunday afternoon May 6 at 3:00pm the ballet comes to the MACC with over 200 MAPA ballerinas who will dazzle the audience in the whimsical ballet, Alice in Wonderland.
The music and fun continues on Thursday, May 10 at 7:30 pm at the McCoy Studio Theater with the University of Hawaii Maui College’s (UHMC) Institute of Hawaiian Music Showcase. The UHMC Institute of Hawaiian Music will showcase its first Tri-Annual Student Concert, featuring ‘ukulele, guitar, keyboards and vocals. This wonderful night of Hawaiian music is presented by multi-Grammy Award winning artist and Director of the Institute of Hawaiian Music George Kahumoku, Jr.
Globetrotter 2012 Championship Tour
You will definitely want to mark Friday, May 11 on your calendar and make plans to see the entertaining Harlem Globetrotters 2012 Championship Tour which will take place at the War Memorial Gym at 7:00pm (doors open at 5:30pm). Led by Big Easy Lofton, the Harlem Globetrotters return to Hawai‘i as part of their 2012 Championship Tour. Lofton is joined on the court by dribbling sensations Handles Franklin and Scooter Christensen; sharp shooter Buckets Blakes; high-flying dunkers Bones Millien, Bull Bullard and Hops Tucker; 7-foot rookie Stretch Middleton and TNT Maddox, the first female player since 1993. The Original Harlem Globetrotters are celebrating their 86th consecutive year, continuing a world-famous tradition of ball handling wizardry, basketball artistry and one-of-a-kind family entertainment that continues to thrill fans of all ages.
