On the water:
Standup Paddle Boarding
A day trip to Catalina Island is not to be missed when staying at the Marriott Newport Coast Villas!
Water equipment rentals include single and double kayaks, sleek sailboats, powerful runabouts, standup paddle boards and boogie boards.
Electric boat rentals from Bayside Marina offer a fun way for up to 8 guests to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries or just enjoy a quiet, calm day on the water while enjoying your Marriott Newport Coast vacation. Each 18’ boat has a small refrigerator, a canvas top offering shade, stereo system with iPod docking port, wood-top dining table and the option to enhance your time by pre-ordering refreshments for your trip.
Full day or half day deep sea fishing excursions can be enjoyed year round.
Kayak fishing with a licensed fishing guide is a great way to enjoy a relaxing day on the water where you can view sea lions up close!
Whale watching excursions offer sightings of blue whales during the summer and fall season and gray whales in the winter and spring.

Jetpack America
For those guests at Marriott Newport Coast Villas that are a bit more daring and seeking adventure, the newest water attraction advertised as “Stop Dreaming and Start Flying” with JetPack America may be just what you are looking for! They invite you to come fly and hover in the air in the world’s first water-powered jetpack. You’ll begin with a safety video, equipment briefing and then enjoy 15-25 minutes of flight time. You’ll learn flight control basics and more advanced maneuvers like donut turns, hovers, underwater submarines and even walking on water.
Segway tours are another great way for Marriott Newport Coast owners to enjoy fantastic views and fresh ocean air as you visit various points of interest with a tour guide around Newport Beach and Balboa Peninsula. All Segway Tours start near the ferry, the Fun Zone, and the Balboa Pier. Popular tours include the 1.5-hour Balboa Peninsula Tour and the 2.5-hour Newport Pier Tour.
Bike tours:
Recent guests at Marriott Newport Coast Villas raved about the Pedego electric bike tours which make it so much easier not to mention more fun, to tour the beautiful Corona del Mar and Crystal Cove State Park, The Wedge, Balboa Island, and the Balboa Ferry and Fun Zone! Newport Beach Vineyards and Winery:
Newport Beach Vineyards and Winery was founded in 1998. The winery is located on the Upper Newport Beach Bay and produces award winning Meritage Red Wine. You’ll find this delightful winery nestled within the vines on a private estate with an exclusive Underground Wine Cave, tropical and botanical gardens, koi ponds, and a bird aviary. If you are staying at Marriott Newport Coast Villas and love red wine, you should put this on your list of places to visit and tour!
Balboa Fun Zone:
Balboa Island Ferris Wheel
The Balboa Fun Zone is one of Southern California’s oldest and last great coastal amusement areas and a popular family-friendly attraction for Marriott Newport Coast Villa owners and guests. Visitors can enjoy rides on the waterfront Ferris Wheel, play games in the arcade or tour the nautical museum while enjoying their favorite beach treats. You can’t miss the fun at Balboa Fun Zone when staying at the Marriott Newport Coast timeshare resort!
Balboa Island:
This one-of-a-kind man-made treasure, Balboa Island is a gem whether you drive, walk, bike, or take the Balboa Island Ferry to the island. Marine Avenue is home to chic coastal shops featuring unique nautical designs, stylish beach fashions, art and jewelry, and quaint Newport Beach bistros serving up a variety of dishes.
There may be nothing more iconic than Balboa island’s two famous desserts, the Balboa Bar and Frozen Banana. The local sweet tooth treasures have been mainstays for nearly 75 years! The tasty treats are dipped in chocolate and covered with a variety of coatings from nuts and sprinkles to cookie crumbs. Yum, yum!
Fashion Island:
Located in the heart of Newport Beach, Fashion Island shopping is Southern California’s premier coastal shopping and dining experience.
