With the announcement of the Marriott merger came the information that three customer loyalty programs will be linked for the use and convenience of the owners of Ritz-Carlton Rewards, Marriott Rewards and the Starwood Preferred Guest program.
The announcement includes the following information on how to link the three loyalty programs (reprinted and unedited as received):

During stays at Marriott Rewards-participating hotels, you’ll receive Rewards benefits, including room upgrades and a 25% bonus on base points.
