Yesterday I had the opportunity to visit the newest vacation ownership resort on Maui which is the Hyatt Ka’anapali Beach vacation ownership property. This makes it the third name brand ownership property on Ka’anapali Beach which is right next to the Marriott and further up on north Ka’anapali Beach is the Westin Ka’anapali and the two phases of Westin Ka’anapali.
What I saw at the Hyatt Ka’anapali Beach Club is it is right next to the Hyatt Hotel and recently completed. In fact, occupancy began in December 2014. It’s a beach front resort and obviously there is a swimming pool with a pool bar, there is a convenience market which has a deli and local gourmet produce, there is a fitness center and all the restaurants are at the Hyatt Hotel next door.
There are 131 units – 19 are one bedroom units, 100 two bedroom units and 12 three bedroom units. So there is only one three bedroom unit on each floor. It is a 12 story property. All these units come with a full and complete, modern, gourmet kitchen with matched appliances. There are stand alone bathtubs in each of the one, two and three bedroom units in the master bedroom. The three bedroom units have three baths and sleep up to 10 people. The two bedroom units sleep up to 6 people and the one bedroom units sleep 4 people. They all come with a washer and dryer and very spacious balconies or lanais facing the ocean.
The Hyatt Ka’anapali Beach Club is a vacation ownership property that has a fixed week program with a point based association with it that gives you the ability to internally exchange into other Hyatt vacation club properties.
So, this Hyatt property on Maui now makes it the 16th Hyatt vacation ownership resort in their network.
Sales have already started and what we are seeing is that when you purchase a unit there, you are purchasing a fixed week and you either purchase in the lower, middle or upper floors – the lower floors being 1 – 4, the middle floors 5 – 8 and the upper floors 9 – 12. Since it is a fixed week your check-in day is a Saturday and you can be anywhere in any one of the floors in the category based on what you purchased.
