On Saturday, July 15 at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, CA, Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, announced the next planned Disney timeshare resort near Epcot which will be called Disney Riviera Resort.  The entirely new resort will connect the new resort to other areas on Walt Disney World property via a new skyway transportation system.

Chapek went on to say that Disney Vacation Club Members will love the “rooftop restaurant that will offer unbelievable views of nighttime spectaculars at both Epcot and Hollywood Studios.”

The new transportation system of gondolas that is planned, called the Disney Skyliner, will give guests a never-before-seen birds-eye view of Walt Disney World and connect this new property with Disney’s Art of Animation, Pop Century and Caribbean Beach resorts with Disney’s Hollywood Studios and the International Gateway at Epcot.

This new Disney timeshare resort with approximately 300 units planned (with a variety of accommodation types), is estimated to open in the fall of 2019 which will make it the 15th Disney Vacation Club property.
