2015 is the Chinese Year of the Ram! If you are vacationing on Maui and would like to experience something unique and fun for the entire family to enjoy, make plans to join in the celebration in Lahaina on Friday, February 20, 2015.
Lahaina celebrates the lunar New Year kicking off the festivities with a traditional lion dance, firecrackers and kung fu demonstration on the Baldwin Home Museum lawn at 5:00pm. The exciting lion dancing will proceed along Front Street, stopping in to visit merchants along the way. The lions will arrive at Wo Hing Museum at 9:00pm for a grand finale dance, firecrackers and the blessing of the temple on Front Street to ring in the New Year of the Ram.
The Wo Hing Museum will host a FREE celebration from 5:00pm to 9:00pm which includes kids crafts, cultural demonstrations and a presentation on the history of the Chinese New Year.
Chinese foods will be available for purchase.
