The timeshare law in Maui:

As many of our Westin timeshare owners are aware of, there is litigation in the works with The County of Maui.  Timeshares on the island of Maui are taxed 70% higher than hotel guests.  According to one of the Board members it is a violation of Federal, Constitutional and the Hawaii Constitution.

The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort management has been active in attending and speaking at the Council Meetings on island.  As the Broker for Advantage Vacation, I have addressed the Council numerous times regarding the unfairness of the tax as well.  To view my address to the Council Meeting, click on:  Syed Sarmad at Maui Council Meeting.
