Target has announced its plans to open a new store in the city of Kahului in March 2015. The store will be located on Hookele Street and is part of the 24 acre Pu’unene Shopping Center being developed there. This will be the first Target store on Maui.
The soft opening of the store is set for Wednesday, March 4 and the Grand Opening is scheduled for Sunday, March 8, 2015. We’ll let you know the hours of operation and the telephone number when that information is made available.
The store will be approximately 140,000 square feet and will offer guests everyday essentials along with the exclusive brands they have come to expect from Target. In addition, the store will include a Starbucks and a Target Pharmacy along with a selection of fresh produce, fresh packaged meat and pre-packaged baked goods.
Target will be hosting job fairs prior to the new store opening and expects to employ approximately 200 team members.
Target’s senior vice president of the Western region stores comments that “Target is excited about our first store on the island of Maui” and goes on to say, “Since opening our first store in Hawaii in 2009, we’ve created strong partnerships with the local community and delivered our ‘Expect More. Pay Less’ brand promise to guests throughout the islands.”
