Cheri and I usually take our vacation annually during September and October. This year we are spending time in Colorado. We are currently at the Residences at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek for a week before heading to Aspen next week.
Let me share with you some of our observations and experiences during our stay here in Beaver Creek.
We checked into a two bedroom residence at The Residences at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, Colorado last Saturday. Our car was valet parked, which is free for Residence club guests while hotel guests pay $40 a day for valet park or $35 a day for self park.
The Residences are spacious, finely furnished two and three bedroom residences each appointed with the Park Hyatt’s exceptional amenities. There is a five star dining room and a gondola to take you up to the mountain top for skiing.
The Allegria Spa is a world class spa located at the resort featuring twenty-three new treatment rooms which enhance the spa experience along with special treatments, caldaria (custom steam rooms for women and men), two custom deluge Vichy showers and extraordinary, one-of-a-kind couple suites.
The Beaver Creek Village offers shopping and dining and is conveniently located just outside the resort. The service is exemplary.
Last week and this week are supposed to be the peak of the Fall colors with the Aspens in Vail. I went for a swim this morning in an outdoor heated lap pool and the view of the beautiful Fall colors from the pool was truly amazing! After my swim I enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzi. I am amazed that there aren’t more people at the resort. We are really enjoying the silence, the beauty and the peacefulness is rejuvenating.
We drove to Vail Village today. Parking was free and there is a bus which will take you to Gore Creek and Lionshead – which is also free. Not all of the shops are open during this time of the year, but there were enough open for us to enjoy visiting. It is a great way to spend an hour or two just strolling through the Village.
There are two supermarkets nearby, the Safeway and City Market, which are located about 100 yards from each other on West Frontage Road. The City Market has a good selection of local organic produce. City Market just opened a new market in Avon on Beaver Creek Place.
Though people most often think of Beaver Creek as a skiing destination, we are enjoying the beauty and serenity of the area during this “off season” vacation. If you are looking for a place to relax, unwind and enjoy some quiet time outdoors, we would highly recommend the Residences at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek to enjoy the beauty of the Aspens in the Fall.
Be sure to check back here for continuing updates on our vacation this year in Colorado!
