Advantage Vacation is committed to keeping timeshare owners up to date and informed on all news and matters relating to timeshare ownership.  We recently received this “breaking news” bulletin from Timesharing Today and reprint it in its entirety.

“TimeSharing Today received information from Attorney Stephan Willett who was the only Objector who appeared at the RCI Points Class Action Fairness Hearing held on December 6, 2012 advising that the court denied the class action settlement in Glenz v. RCI, No. 09-cv-378. The Court will hold another hearing on January 14, 2013 at 10:00 AM in Judge Peter G. Sheridan’s Courtroom 4E at the United States District Court for NJ, 402 East State St,Trenton, NJ. The Court will hear testimony regarding the fairness of the RCI Points Program and the settlement, Dkt. 103. The court specifically asked for testimony from the plaintiffs.

Willett has created an email address RCIPointsProgramProblems@yahoo.com “to insure the above court has a complete understanding of the RCI Points Program. Individuals are asked to email comments, preferably in letter format so they can be more easily shared with the court, to the above email address regarding their experiences with and opinions of the RCI Points Program. The deadline to submit comments is January 2, 2013 so the responses can be analyzed and summarized by the court’s deadline before the above hearing. Maybe members can make a difference this time!”

Willett further advised that he filed a second RCI Points Class Action, Biendara v. RCI, No. 11-cv-536 in 2010 that is resulting in an appeal to the US Supreme Ct, No. 12A-599.

The entire text of the above recent court order, Dkt. 103 is available at: http://66.242.134.60/SettlementDeniedOrder.pdf

Information about the Points Class Action lawsuit is available on RCI’s website www.rci.com or at this link: https://pointsprogramsettlement.com/default.aspx
