Registration for this event opens in mid-January, but if you are going to be on Maui, Saturday, February 28 and would like to see about volunteering, visit the Pacific Whale Foundation’s volunteer website at mauiwhalefestival.org.
Come join Pacific Whale Foundation researchers and volunteers for this annual citizen’s count of the humpback whales that can be easily viewed from Maui’s coastline.
During the count, volunteers learn more about whales and whale research methods and meet others who share the same interest in whales.
There is no cost to participate and all the equipment is provided.
The event takes place Saturday, February 28 from 7:30am to 12:00pm from various counting locations along Maui’s coastline. Due to the scientific nature of the event, the number of volunteers the Pacific Whale Foundation can accept at each site is limited.
