Friday, August 9
6pm – 10pm – Maui Calls 2013 – Maui Arts & Cultural Center Signature Benefit Gala
Held at the Yokouchi Pavilion/Amphitheater, MACC’s signature fundraiser gala, Maui Calls is celebrated under the stars with a theme that changes each year. In celebration of the surfrider guests are invited to enjoy delectable pūpū created by chefs from stellar Maui restaurants paired with premium wines served by vintners from boutique wineries around the world. The gala includes a fresh flower lei greeting, Hawaiian music serenade and surprise musical guest as well as a chance to bid on hundreds of items from art and jewelry to golf and travel packages during silent and live auctions. The evening ends with dancing. This event is for adults 21 years & over. Tickets range from $195 to $500 per person and can be purchased through the Box Office at 808.242.7469.

10am – 7pm – The Angkor Wat Film Festival held at the McCoy Studio Theater
The mission of the Angkor Wat International Film Festival is to showcase and celebrate films with subjects and themes that deal with the preservation of culture and environment. this is an important focus in a world where the pressures to homogenize cultures through “enculturation” and globalization are seen as progress – and inevitable. Following you will find the film schedule and times. Tickets for films at 10am, 12noon, 2pm and 4pm are $7 each (the 10am and 12noon films are free to keiki). The 7pm film “Cave of the Forgotten Dreams” tickets are $27 which includes a presentation by Dr. Greenberg (plus applicable fees).
10am – “Wild Africa” is a 3D and surprise nature film
12noon – “Cirque De Soleil – Worlds Away” 3D film
2pm – “Bhutan, The Height of Happiness” 2D film and “Papua” 3D film
4pm – “Chasing Ice” 2D film
7pm – Dr. Greenberg presentation and 3D film: “Cave of Forgotten Dreams”

Friday, August 16 at 7:30pm – Les Miserables by MAPA presented at the Castle Theater
Performed live for the first time on Maui by the Maui Academy of Performing Arts, this epic musical has thrilled audiences around the world for nearly three decades. Tickets are $15, $28, $40, $52, $65, (25% discount for students 18 & under) (plus applicable fees) and can be purchased on-line.

The Sullivan & Son Comedy Tour features Steve Byrne (The Tonight Show, Conan, The Byrne Identity: Comedy Central Special), Owen Benjamin (The Tonight Show, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Comedy Central Presents), Roy Wood Jr. (The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show, The Funny Spot with Tony Rock), and Ahmed Ahmed (The Tonight Show, Axis Of Evil: Comedy Central, Iron Man). 7:30pm – 10pm – An Evening with David Crosby & Graham Nash at Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Castle Theater. Enjoy Rock-and-Roll Hall-of-Famers David Crosby and Graham Nash as they bring their legacy of timeless songwriting and sublime vocal harmonies to the MACC to perform a one-night only concert in the Castle Theater as a benefit for “Ruth’s Ride.” As a duo, these longtime creative partners bring out the best in each other. Their hit songs include, “Wasted on the Way,” ”Just a Song Before I Go,” and “Teach Your Children.” Tickets are $45, $55, $75, $95 and $150. 4:30pm – 10pm – Maui Arts & Cultural Center is hosting Reggae in the Valley which will be the biggest “Reggae In The Valley” event in its nine-year history!
UB40’s legendary voice Ali Campbell headlines Maui’s signature music festival “Reggae In The Valley 2013.” With over 70 million albums sold worldwide music lovers from three generations will enjoy timeless hit songs such as Red Red Wine, Kingston Town, Can’t Help Falling In Love, Homely Girl and much much more.
