We arrived when the Aspens were in full color. We truly lucked out! Our first night at Hyatt Grand Aspen I rented a studio unit because our reservations in a one bedroom did not start until the following day.
We own a Hyatt timeshare at The Highlands Inn in Carmel, CA and used our points for this Colorado vacation. This is a really beautiful resort located in the heart of Aspen. We walk a short two blocks and are in the town. The last time I was here was 20 years ago and I must say it is as beautiful as I remember. Many of the restaurants are closed, but several of those that are open are offering 3 course meals for $30.00. We went to an Asian restaurant last night and it was outstanding. The name is Asie and if you have an opportunity, I highly recommend it.
The one bedroom unit is done beautifully. It is one of the nicest units I have ever stayed at. The kitchen has all Viking appliances and the cookware is Le Crusett. I was told this resort became a Hyatt in 2005. I would be happy just staying in the unit, it is that nice.
The resort offers a fire pit, ice rink, bicycle and ski rentals, along with a pool and hot tubs. There is also a mountain side fitness center which has treadmills, bicycles, elliptical trainers, free weights, weight machines and fit balls and yoga mats.
There is free wi-fi in the rooms.
Another nice feature is they offer free shuttle service to restaurants and ski locations in the winter. Aspen is located about 8000 feet above sea level and the air is thin and has less oxygen content. One could experience a shortness of breath, headaches, a touch of nausea or fatigue. These symptoms usually disappear about 24-36 hours after arrival.
Syed and I have been in the timeshare industry for over 30 years. Our business is mainly name brand properties such as Westin, Marriott’s, Hilton and Hyatt’s. After this trip Hyatt may be my favorite!
One of the things I love about Aspen is how dog friendly it is. There are a number of dog friendly timeshares around the US. While this one is not, you can click on this link – dog friendly timeshares – and see an article we wrote some time ago, with a list of dog friendly timeshares. Be sure to call the resort prior to your visit to confirm what rules, regulations and restrictions they have for visiting pets. Seems I am missing my beast as I am writing this article.
We were going to go to Nobu tonight and decided because our lodging is so nice and shopping is great in the village, we will do dinner in and watch Monday night football. Did I mention there are 3 TV’s in this one bedroom unit??
Stay tuned for more of our vacation experiences!
