Honolulu, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow)-Amid COVID-19 outbreaks on the mainland that” are not in control” and are pushing new infections to record highs, Gov. David Ige announced Monday he’s delaying the launch of traveler testing program until September 1 that is designed to safely reopen the tourism industry.

The current plan for testing visitors 72 hours before arrival in the State of Hawai’i is inadequate as it will increase the exposure of COVID-19 to airline, hotel, and service industry employees, “the Hawaii County Council said in a statement.

We look forward to seeing you on your next Hawaii Vacation.
