The American Resort Development Association (ARDA) began a feature series almost a year ago through their Vacation Better program, called Timeshare Fans. By partnering with its members, ARDA invites timeshare owners to share how they vacation better with timeshare and to explain–in their own words–why timeshare is a better way to vacation.
The August feature showcased a Starwood Vacation Ownership family and how their yearly timeshare vacation was enhanced by a once in a lifetime experience.
Kenneth and Lisa Gelman from Philadelphia, have been owners at their Orlando-based villa resort since 2007 and along with their two kids, look forward to visiting Central Florida each year. They love the area’s theme parks and attractions, as well as enjoying the comfort and world-class amenities at their timeshare resort.
This year however, their vacation experience reached a new level of excitement and enjoyment when Starwood Vacation Ownership and SeaWorld Orlando teamed up to create a unique vacation experience for them … saving a sea turtle. As Lisa said, “When Starwood called us a few days before our vacation to see if we wanted to participate in this unique experience with SeaWorld, we jumped at the chance! This was truly one of the greatest experiences our family has ever had. We will never forget returning that sea turtle into the ocean!”
Timeshare industry research has found that many consumers are often stressed by all the details involved in vacation planning. Vacation planning starts with agreeing on the destination, the consideration of cost, the availability of activities and entertainment opportunities in the area and possibly the most stressful aspect, is the uncertainty of what the accommodations will be like.
Timeshare vacations are a great way to eliminate the stress related to planning your next vacation and timeshare resales are a great way to save money. Although timeshare should never be purchased as an investment, it is an investment in all your future vacations….think of it as vacation insurance! You are assured of the quality of your accommodations and the time and place you will be vacationing year after year.
