This past Friday we were the lucky recipients of a free night’s stay at the Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villas in Lahaina, Maui Hawaii. Clients of ours were leaving early and gave us Friday night to stay in this condo. The unit was 3228 which is a Deluxe Ocean Front. It was the one bedroom side. What an amazing experience!
It seems from time to time we forget we live in paradise and this was a great wakeup call. I have been in the timeshare industry for over 30 years and have seen hundreds of time share properties. In fact 20 years ago this coming May, we were married at The Westin St. John. At the time I thought that was the most beautiful timeshare I had ever seen. Of course it was not a Westin then, but a Hyatt.
Back to my free over night. We packed a cooler with some Bolognese from the freezer I had made last week and some home made pasta I had made the day before, along with some Parmagiano and a soft cheese for crackers and a great bottle of red wine. The unit was beautiful and complete with granite counter tops in the well stocked kitchen. We had dinner watching the sunset and went for a walk after dinner.
It is so very beautiful in front of The Westin Ka’anapali on the walkways. It was great watching people take pictures of their loved ones at sunset on the beach in front of the Westin with people grilling and laughing by the pool and others sitting in the Jacuzzi. How wonderful it must be for a family to come back year after year to paradise at The Westin with their children and vacation in that style of accommodations and amenities. This is truly quality time with your family.
Before we went back to the room we actually PLAYED in the water in the dark. Like two kids, just like we did 25 years ago when we first started coming to this beautiful island.
When we returned to the condo we took advantage of the 2 person jacuzzi tub between the bedroom and bathroom and retired to our Westin heavenly bed around 9:00pm and woke at 4:30a.m. I put a sheet, pillow and blanket on the chaise lounge on the lanai and we watched shooting stars until the morning light. That morning we had breakfast in the condo and then took an early morning walk along Front St. in Lahaina at 7:00a.m. I love it when no one is on the streets and it is quiet.
The two bedroom lockout units at the Westin are so great because you can split it and get two weeks for one. We have many clients who use the studio side one week and the one bedroom the next.
Maui is a special place and sometimes we forget there is so much beauty all around and available at any moment. It was truly a joy being on the beach in Ka’anapali and staying at The Westin.
