Hello, my name is Syed Sarmad and I’m the Principal Broker for Advantage Vacation. Advantage Vacation is a licensed real estate company specializing in timeshare resales. Our offices are located in the Lahaina Cannery Mall in Lahaina, Maui, Hawaii.

Today I would like to talk about the difference between rolling over your Hilton Grand Vacation Club points versus rescuing your points. It’s a question that I’m asked quite often – whether it’s better to rollover your points for the upcoming year or do it in the year of your useage.

When you rollover your points, for example if you’re rolling over your 2015 points you have to do it by December 31st of 2014. You get all of your benefits when you rollover your points – in other words you can use it at any other Hilton Grand Vacation Club resort, RCI, Hilton Honors, car rentals, airline travel, etc.

However, if you rollover your 2015 points in the year 2015 that is considered “rescued points” and some of the benefits are not available. So what you would have is the ability to use those points at any other Hilton Grand Vacation resort or through RCI – you will not have Hilton Honors, car rentals or airline travel, etc.  There is a $99 rollover fee.

I hope this information has been beneficial to you. Thank you.
